Watch out Tesla, Infento is going electric

Wouldn’t it be great if you could attach a real electric motor to your ride? One that would give kids the feeling that they own their very own Tesla? We guess you already got the hint from our last update. We are developing Infento E-drive!

The work on an electric motor started a couple of months ago. It is still early stage but we already produced a rudimentary first prototype. Check out the picture below. Does it really work you wonder? You betcha!

The first design sketches

Ok, so it doesn’t look super flashy and stylish yet. But hey, it’s the first prototype. The big breakthrough is that it’s possible! And as you might deduct from the  look of our rides, you know we love design. You can rest assured that E-drive will get a real Infento look.

Check out our first sketches:

We are also looking at real Infento ways to mount the electric motor and the battery pack to our rides. Multi functional, simple and esthetic. Here is one of our first ideas:

The specs of E-drive

We know we have a lot of techies who subscribed to our newsletter. So especially for this group we give the first specs of our E-drive. Remember, this is still in development, so things can change of course.

Motor: 24V Brushless motor (maintenance free)
Gearing: planetary gearing (less noise and compact)
Speed: 2 settings, 4 and 8 km/h
Battery: lithium ion
Throttle control: infinitely variable speed (for- and backwards)

E-drive: stretch goal on Kickstarter

Will we offer E-drive right away at the start of our Kickstarter campaign? No, not immediately. Developing E-drive costs a lot of resources. This means we will make E-drive a stretch goal on Kickstarter. What is a stretch goal?

When we launch our Kickstarter campaign, we must set a fundraising goal, which reflects the minimum amount of money that we need to bring the project to life.

If we hit that target before the campaign’s duration runs out we still have time left to raise more funds. This is where stretch goals come in. Stretch goals are enhancements to a project that will be “unlocked” if you hit certain funding milestones. If we hit our first funding milestone and we keep on raising enough funds E-drive will go from concept to a reality!

Tick… tock… Kickstarter

Tension is building in the HQ of Infento. This week we submitted our campaign to the reviewers of Kickstarter and now we are waiting for feedback. Maybe they would like to see some small changes on our project page, maybe not. Once our project is past the review, we can share when we are going live! We are close, very very close!

Stay tuned and in the mean time keep on riding!
